Springtime Pop-Up Shops!

April 13, 2018

We're so excited to be popping-up at Esperos Soho on Saturday, April 14.  Pop-ups have been a good way for us to get to know all of you!  We love hearing direct feedback about fit, styles, colors, and prints.  It's been a fabulous Spring so far-- make sure you follow us on social media to find out about pop-ups near you.

Get to know Jessica Rey a bit more in her fun interview with Esperos:

Power ranger, accountant, entrepreneur, swimsuit designer, mother. Jessica Reywears many hats. In her free time, the actress would spend countless hours bikini-clad by the pool between auditions and jobs. After deciding to ditch the bikini life, she founded her own brand of bikini alternatives: Rey Swimwear. Her journey of ‘mompreneur’ has spanned eight years as she has proven her status as a bad@ss woman. Read our talk with her to learn more about the woman who does it all.

You believe that anything is possible, and you seem to have no hesitation when tackling new projects. What or who gives you the confidence to continually take on new roles?

My parents gave me the confidence that I could do anything I set my mind to, as long as I worked hard. My mom came to this country with nothing but her education. Her brother saved up all of his money from the Navy to buy her a ticket to NYC to work as a nurse. My dad was drafted into the Vietnam War to fight for a country he’d never been to (the USA)-- he survived and came here with about $35 to look for my mom. They married soon after and worked hard to make their dreams come true. They were wonderful examples of the ‘American Dream.’

What is your message to other moms who aspire to be mompreneurs like yourself? And, where can they find a support system outside of their families?

If you are passionate about starting a venture and have lots of energy, go for it! It’s so much work, but I find it to be so fulfilling. There are so many groups on social media that aspiring mompreneurs can join for support and advice.

What impact do you want your children to have in the world if any? How do you instill these values in them?

I often hear people say that they are afraid to bring children into this world because it seems hopeless. I believe that’s why we need to raise our children to be the light in the darkness and hope for the future. I want them to be a reflection of true Love--to have the wisdom to know right from wrong and the courage to do what’s right. We try to be good examples for them, affirm and discipline them, and pray with and for them.

What do you think of the term “beach body?”

I hate it. It makes women think they have to look absolutely perfect before they even think about putting a swimsuit on. It prevents ladies from enjoying their vacations. It stops moms from splashing around the pool with their kids. It makes women feel inadequate and “less than.” I cannot tell you how many emails we get from ladies who have never felt comfortable in a swimsuit in their entire lives before wearing one of ours. The term “beach body” takes away the confidence that our bodies are worthy of the beach as they are.

What items do you always have in your bag?

Besides my wallet, keys, and phone-- baby wipes and XL disposable toilet seat covers for my kids, and Luna Bars/snacks (#momlife), Dr. Bronner’s chapstick, Shu Uemura eyelash curler, Poofy Organics Argan oil lotion stick, and Rohto eye drops(hey, sometimes I don’t sleep much and my eyes are super red- these are miracle drops).

Absolutely beautiful

This is a gorgeous bathing suit. Very well made and I am so happy to find a beautiful swimsuit with full coverage. I am in my 50s and this is perfect!

Great quality

I absolutely love how soft this bathing suit is. It’s both modest and cute.
The size I got was too big but the customer service was so prompt in answering questions. Great company.

So pretty

The print is gorgeous. Bought an XS for my daughter who is between kid sizes and adult sizes. Maybe a 00 or kids 14/16. It's a little big, but not much. The adjustable straps make it work for anyone. Love these swimsuit cuts!

Modest. Wonderful Quality

It’s difficult to find girls’ suits with full coverage on the bottom. Thank you! Fits well if you go off other sizes your daughter wears…a 6/7 fits my 4-5 year old daughter perfectly. High quality fabric as well.
